Theme & language

At the bottom of the sidebar (top right on the login and setup page) you switch between:

  • Light / Dark / System default – this setting is only stored locally in the browser, not on the account – on another device or browser you’ll start again with the system default.
  • German / English / Italian / French / Spanish – also stored purely locally in the browser, not on the account – on another device or browser, the default language (see below) applies again.

The sidebar follows the chosen appearance. Code fields (SQL terminal, script editor, document templates, the markdown paragraph being edited) stay dark in both appearances – as is common in development environments.

Project-wide default language

Under Settings → Project Settings (visible to administrators only) an admin sets the project-wide default language. This server-stored setting applies to every session that has never used the language switcher itself – as soon as someone manually picks a language in the sidebar once, that personal, browser-local override permanently supersedes the project-wide default for that device/browser.

On a fresh installation, English is the default default-language.

In the language menu (the flag), the entry Project default always takes you back to the project-wide default language – your personal choice is removed. If the project setting cannot be loaded, the browser language applies.
