Create a new SQLite database directly
Instead of connecting an existing SQLite file, IllusionDB can create and manage a brand new, empty SQLite database itself – handy if you want to start without any existing database at all (e.g. for this very handbook).
Two entry points:
- “Create new SQLite database” in the sidebar (the “+” next to “Connections”), or
- the button of the same name on the “Data Sources” settings page.
You only provide a name and a file name – IllusionDB creates the file and registers it as a data source right away. The database is then completely empty (no tables); create the first table via the SQL Terminal or via CSV import.
From the data source’s detail page you can download the file at any time later (see Manage a data source).
